Brief Background on Sheena Mac Brayne:
I’ve travelled extensively developing TV and film projects for international film and multi-media companies. My initial experience in the film industry was in the field of Visual Effects, which assists me greatly in designing multi- and new-media projects. I’ve written, produced and directed documentaries for international television, particularly on history (ancient and modern).
As an Egyptologist, I spent ten years (1999 – 2009) in Egypt (Luxor and Cairo) making films and facilitating productions for foreign companies (Discovery, The Learning Channel, MBC, Nile TV, Al Jazeera etc) with Mr Zaki Ghazi, until 2003 Head of the Egyptian Press Office in London and currently International Co-Production Executive at the Egyptian Media Production City.
As Head of Production at Funky Medics Ltd. from 2010 – 2014, I was involved in developing multi-platform digital educational formats. I set up Golden Dragon Productions in November 2014 to focus on writing, finding great stories about real people that challenge the audience’s perception of history and working with co-production partners in China and the Middle East.
My skills are best found in assessing content (both visual and written) and commercial viability in the international market, presenting and communicating ideas, co-ordinating people and working either as a team leader or team member. I also lecture in media studies and Middle Eastern and Islamic History.
